Ulta Haul!

Tonight I have my first haul blog post for you! If you haven't seen my actual Ulta Haul video here it is:

I went to Ulta about 2 weekends ago and picked up lots of new goodies, especially nail polishes. I couldn't resist- it's an addiction. Here are some photos so that you can see all the products up close and the true colors of the polishes.

Above is a photo of everything I picked up. In my haul video I showed all of these items except for the Essie polish, which by the way is called "Bikini So Teeny". I couldn't show it because my sister took it on a weekend vacation with her while I filmed that video, but kudos to you for reading this post so you got to see it. :)

Full size polishes purchased (left to right): China Glaze 'Peachy Keen', Essie 'Bikini So Teeny', OPI 'Significant Other Color', OPI 'Nothin' Mousie Bout It', and OPI 'The Flowers are Blue-ming'

I also purchased the OPI Spiderman Collection 4-pack which includes 4 mini polishes from the collection. Those colors, pictured above, are (left to right): 'Into the Night', 'Just Spotted the Lizard', 'Your Web or Mine?', and 'Number One Nemesis'.

That's it for this post! I hope the photos were helpful and I hope you guys enjoyed the haul video. :)

Nail of the Day: Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

It's time for another Nail of the Day! Today I'm wearing one of my favorite blues, 'Pacific Blue' by Sally Hansen. I bought this color last summer after hearing many Youtubers rave about it. I agree with the hype! I am obsessed with this polish and it's definitely an all-time favorite for me. I think the brightness of it is perfect for summer. At under $3, you really have nothing to lose by picking it up.

I must say, for the cheap price tag, the Hard as Nails polishes I've tried have all impressed me with the quality. They're smooth, shiny, and quick to apply. I had no problems with this guy! I did two coats, however some of my nails were opaque with just one. I can't express my love for this color. It's a very stand-out polish. I got a ton of comments on my new videos I posted yesterday asking what this color was. That's a sign it's a good one. :)

Have you tried out this color? If not, I can't recommend it enough. It again retails for very cheap, under $3 at most places, and can be found at drugstores and maybe grocery stores as well.

Have a great day loves, and thanks for stopping by :)

My New Hair!

For the past few weeks I've had the urge to lighten my hair for the summertime. The other day I tweeted and asked if I should do it, and about 95% of you said yes! So, I booked a hair appointment for today. I just got back from the salon and I am pretty in love with my new color. It's exactly what I wanted- a golden blonde with a hint of my natural color showing through.

I think I have an obsessive habit of changing my hair color every few months. It was ombre, then brown, and now blonde! But I like experimenting with different styles and seeing what looks best on me. I think summer is the perfect time to try a new color or cut because it's not as much of a shock as it would be if you just walked into school with it, knowing everyone would be noticing.

As for what I asked for, I showed my stylist a photo of me with my ombre hair, and told her I wanted to be all the blonde color that the bottom half of my hair was in the photo. It turned out pretty spot on! I also got a simple trim, because my hair is always a little dead at the ends when I get it done.

Now that I have dyed my hair lighter, that means taking extra care of it. I knew I needed a new shampoo and conditioner to protect the color as well as repair the damage from dying it, so she recommended to me the Bumble & Bumble Mending ones. It's very important when you have color treated hair to use moisturizing products for color-treated hair. I am excited to try out the new shampoo and conditioner!

If you live around the Atlanta area and want to know the salon I went to (I have been going to the same hair stylist since I was 7- she's amazing), tweet me or message me on Youtube. Also, I did a follow-me-around type video of me going to the salon and getting it done. That will be up tonight on my vlog channel, LivinLikeLindsey. I will link that video on this post when it's up! :)

So, what do you guys think?

Nail of the Day: China Glaze Peachy Keen

Hi guys! Today I'm doing another Nail of the Day post. Since it's summer I've had too much free time on my hands, and that results in me painting my nails, sometimes multiple times in a week! My current polish of choice is 'Peachy Keen' by China Glaze. It's a creamy baby peach color, unlike anything else that I own.

As you can tell from the photo, Peachy Keen is a cream-finish polish with no shimmer. If you own Tart Deco by Essie, it's like a milkier version of that. I think they are different enough to justify owning both as Peachy Keen is much lighter.

I hadn't used a China Glaze polish in a while, but this one was a little difficult to work with. Not anything major, I just found that a lot of polish came off the brush at once and if not careful, that can result in uneven and messy nails. The finished product was great though, and the second coat really made a difference in any unevenness.

Overall, I was very happy with this polish choice. China Glaze is cheaper at $6 then brands like Essie and OPI at $8-$8.50, but it is still a great brand that I will continue to use- just not my favorite. I highly recommend this color for summertime, as the pastel-ness of it will really make a tan pop (if you have one, unlike me). It retails for about $6 and can be found at Ulta or wherever China Glaze is sold. :) Hope you guys enjoyed, have a great day!

Lindsey

Nail of the Day: OPI Significant Other Color

After my introduction post yesterday, it's time for my first real blog post! I thought I'd start off with a simple nail of the day post. I always see Allison, or Amarixe, do these, so the idea behind it is inspired by her, but mostly to give you my nail polish recommendations and thoughts. :)

Today's nail color is 'Significant Other Color' by OPI. It's not a newly released polish or anything, but it is new to me. I stumbled across it at Ulta last weekend and couldn't leave without it. The unique color and beautiful undertones make it in my eyes, a very unique polish.

This polish is a gorgeous lilac color with shimmery undertones- they appear almost green in the light.  What I love about colors like this is it's not a cream finish, but not a glitter finish either. It's the perfect amount of shimmer, without being gritty like certain glitter polishes.

Two coats was perfect for me when I applied this a few days ago, however before I took these photos I added a third coat followed by a topcoat for added shine. I had no problems with this polish- it went on more opaque then I expected and applied like a dream. I have decided this polish is definitely a new favorite of mine, and I will be using it often. If you want to get your hands on this color, it can be found at Ulta or wherever OPI is sold. :)

That's about it! Let me know if you guys want more Nail of the Day posts, and what my next post should be (fashion, a product review?). I can't wait to start blogging more- this is really fun!

Love,
Lindsey

My First Blog Post

Welcome to my new website! Thank you for coming to check it out :) I have wanted to create a blog for months now, and now that I'm on summer vacation I am finally getting around to it. I AM SO EXCITED! I can hardly contain myself. What I love most about blogs is how much more connected I feel to the person writing the posts- it's a completely different thing then making videos. You guys don't get to read much from me with the exception of Twitter (we all know I'm on there 24/7), so I'm hoping this blog will be my way to connect with you in a better way.

As for what I'll be posting, it's going to be a large mix of beauty, fashion, and my life. I plan on doing many product reviews on here- drugstore and high-end. I feel like that's easier and more informative then making a video on every product I want to review for you all. I will include high-quality photos in all those posts. I plan on buying a great photo-taking camera very soon, to use for that purpose! You all know how much I love my nail polish- I will do nail-of-the-day posts (Amarixe inspired, or course) showing you different colors and reviewing them a bit.

As for fashion, I'm going to try to do a few outfit-of-the-day posts a week. I know lots of you like my Outfit of the Week videos, but I feel like this will be easier and not so repetitive. I will show you everything from my outfit to shoes to accessories (again, high-quality photos!).

Lastly, I plan on doing occasional posts on things happening in my life- vacations, important events, or just updates when I want to talk to you :) I love sharing my life with you all and I think this blog will be the perfect way to do that. Again, I will include photos in these posts! As soon as I get my new camera in a few days, I will be posting on here very frequently. Fingers crossed I can keep up with it! I am very excited to share beauty, fashion, and my life with you all in a whole new way- and I hope you are too! :)

Love,
Lindsey
